Infrastructure automate and manage deployments across Azure and AWS using Terraform

Project Overview

In this project, I was responsible for managing and deploying infrastructure across both AWS and Azure using Terraform. The AWS environment consisted of 7 servers deployed within a private network, while on Azure, serverless APIs were deployed using Azure Web Apps and Azure Functions. This multi-cloud setup was fully automated and managed via Terraform, ensuring infrastructure as code (IaC) practices were followed for consistent, repeatable, and scalable deployments.

Technologies and Services Used

  • Terraform: Used for infrastructure as code (IaC) to automate and manage deployments across AWS and Azure.

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS): Managed 7 servers in a private network, deployed and configured using Terraform.

  • Azure Web Apps: Deployed serverless APIs on Azure using Web Apps for scalable and managed hosting.

  • Azure Functions: Utilized for deploying serverless APIs with event-driven architecture on Azure.

  • AWS VPC (Virtual Private Cloud): Used to ensure private network configuration for the AWS infrastructure.

  • Azure Virtual Network: Managed networking for the Azure resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Terraform Code Development: Developed and maintained Terraform scripts to automate the deployment of infrastructure across both AWS and Azure environments.

  • AWS Infrastructure Management: Deployed and configured 7 servers within an AWS VPC, ensuring secure and private network access.

  • Azure Serverless API Deployment: Automated the deployment of serverless APIs using Azure Web Apps and Azure Functions, ensuring high availability and scalability.

  • Networking Configuration: Set up and managed private network configurations in AWS using VPC, and handled networking requirements for Azure resources.

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Implemented IaC best practices to ensure consistency, version control, and reusability of infrastructure code.

  • Multi-Cloud Integration: Managed both AWS and Azure environments within a single Terraform setup, ensuring seamless integration and efficient resource provisioning.

  • Resource Monitoring and Optimization: Monitored resource utilization across both clouds and optimized deployments for performance and cost efficiency.

Project Outcomes

  • Automated Multi-Cloud Infrastructure: Successfully automated the deployment and management of infrastructure across both AWS and Azure, reducing manual effort and increasing efficiency.

  • Secure AWS Environment: Deployed 7 servers within a secure private network on AWS, ensuring data privacy and controlled access.

  • Scalable Serverless APIs: Deployed serverless APIs on Azure using Web Apps and Functions, allowing the system to scale automatically based on demand.
